It has been a while, but I have finally updated the Player Activity Charts.

I have calculated the concurrency numbers through January 2010 provided by the CensusPlus UI Addon.

The continued decline, with the boost around the Christmas holidays is pretty much as expected going by previous annual trends. I doubt we’ll see much deviation from prior annual reporting until something major such as a new viable MMO release, or when the Cataclysm expansion is released.

We continue to be light on submissions for several realms so help is greatly appreciated! Even 1 person can make a significant contribution, and all help is appreciated. To see if your realms is one of the less covered, check out the Most Wanted page!

And of course, just by submitting, you can win great prizes such as Amazon gift certificates! It’s easy to do, it helps the site and it can be profitable to you! So help by submitting data today!

Wow, what a slack I am. I have not done a drawing in 3 months, that’s a first!

You may have noticed we are slow on the updates and not much news has come out about WoWRoster, UniUploader, or UniAdmin

It’s not because we don’t care about this community any more, or that we have moved on to other projects. It’s because we just don’t have time.
I have been working and attending college both full time for the last 1.5 years, and that leave little to no time to work on WoWRoster.
I can’t speak for the other devs, but I do not want to leave this project behind.

Calystos has been working on UniUploader and UniAdmin and is even planning on a complete rewrite of UniUploader since the interface has become overwhelming. UA and UU are also getting support for officer only addons (already supported in the SVN builds).

As for myself, I have many ideas I would like to implement. The downloads section here is non existent since the move and I haven’t had time to fix it.

On that note, I want to do something about this problem of having no time to work on our projects here.
I would like to ask if anyone is interested in contributing to our projects in a more official way, please send me a PM.

The virtual world of online gaming seems like the perfect place
to hide. There is plenty of anonymity, and it’s almost impossible
for someone to trace activity back to its source, right? Wrong.

Two weeks ago, Howard County Sheriff’s Department deputy Matt
Roberson tracked down a wanted fugitive through one of the most
popular games on the Internet — World of Warcraft. And he got his
man.

“You hear stories about you can’t get someone through the
Internet,” said Roberson. “Guess what??You can. I just did. Here
you are, playing World of Warcraft, and you never know who you’re
playing with.”

In this case, online gamers were playing alongside Alfred
Hightower, a man wanted on charges of dealing in a schedule III
controlled substance and dealing in a schedule IV controlled
substance, and two charges of dealing in marijuana. A warrant was
issued for his arrest in 2007.

The sheriff’s department enlisted the aid of the U.S. Marshals
this summer to track down a number of fugitives as part of
Operation: Falcon, and Hightower was among those targeted.
Unfortunately, authorities were unable to locate him. Roberson soon
found out why. The suspect had skipped the country.

“I received information from a childhood friend, who tells me
the guy is in Canada,” said Roberson. “I held onto the information
in the back of my head. I spoke to the marshals and asked if we
could confirm the guy’s location, would they help us get him? They
indicated that they would.”

With the help of sheriff’s major Steve Rogers, Roberson began
gathering information on Hightower through a number of sources.
That is how they discovered that their suspect was a World of
Warcraft fan.

“We received information that this guy was a regular player of
an online game, which was referred to as ‘some warlock and witches’
game,” said Roberson. “None of that information was sound enough to
pursue on its own, but putting everything we had together gave me
enough evidence to send a subpoena to Blizzard Entertainment. I
knew exactly what he was playing — World of Warcraft. I used to
play it. It’s one of the largest online games in the world.”

Indeed, World of Warcraft is among the most popular online
pastimes today, boasting more than 14 million players in dozens of
countries — including Canada. But this is the Internet, and
Blizzard is in California. Roberson’s subpoena was nothing more
than a politely worded request, considering the limits of his law
enforcement jurisdiction and the ambiguity of the online world.

“They don’t have to respond to us, and I was under the
assumption that they wouldn’t,” said Roberson. “It had been three
or four months since I had sent the subpoena. I just put it in the
back of my mind and went on to do other things. Then I finally got
a response from them. They sent me a package of information. They
were very cooperative. It was nice that they were that willing to
provide information.”

Blizzard did more than cooperate. It gave Roberson everything he
needed to track down Hightower, including his IP address, his
account information and history, his billing address, and even his
online screen name and preferred server. From there it was a simple
matter to zero in on the suspect’s location.

? “I did a search off the IP?address to locate him,” said
Roberson. “I got a longitude and latitude. Then I went to Google
Earth. It works wonders. It uses longitude and latitude. Boom! I
had an address. I was not able to go streetside at the location,
but I had him.”

Roberson and Rogers contacted the U.S. Marshals, who immediately
notified the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Border
Services Agency. According to Rogers, Canadian authorities located
Hightower in Ottawa, Ontario, and arranged to have him deported.
The marshals picked up the suspect in Minneapolis, and Howard
County has until Jan. 5 to bring him back here to face charges.

“Roberson did some great work on this deal,” said sheriff Marty
Talbert. “This is the first time in my seven years as sheriff that
a fugitive was located in Canada. Rogers and Roberson did an
outstanding job coordinating this.”

Talbert explained that this online manhunt isn’t the first time
his department has ventured onto the Internet to track down a
suspect. Earlier this year, sheriff’s deputies used a phone number
look-up Web site to find a man in North Carolina who was wanted on
charges in Howard County. In that case, authorities found their
suspect through an online classified ad on Craig’s List.

“Suspects cannot be allowed to escape facing criminal charges by
simply moving and relocating,” said Talbert.?

Normally, mule, I’d suggest that you do some reading on your own followed by some thinking. Doesn’t look like that’ll work in this case though so I’ll spell it out.

Marijuana is illegal for the same reason a whole lot of other things are illegal; because they make someone (in this case people running the prison industry) a metric shit ton of money.

Keep up your anti-drug crusade though keyboard warrior. People will see things your way eventually. I suggest you let the glorious success of alcohol prohibition inspire you.

Nogard, I like how you were able to pick and choose the facts which best supported your bias. In the same sentence that says he was wanted for selling marijuana, it also said he was wanted for selling Schedule III and Schedule IV controlled substances. Not sure how you missed that. A quick Google search will show you that schedule III and schedule IV controlled substances cover most prescription pain meds, as well as Rohypnol, the date rape drug, as well as some of the basic ingredients to making LSD. Regarding all those wasted man hours and tax dollars…Again, re-read the article. The main deputy responsible for this put the information "in the back of his head," they sent a subpeona to the WoW makers, not expecting any results, they made some phone calls and did some internet searches. Really? All this effort for a guy who dealt marijuana? Countless man hours and probably hundreds of thousands of tax dollars spent to catch one basement-dwelling troll on WoW who sold some weed? Seriously! If this guy had committed a violent crime, then OK; but, all this guy did was help people who wanted to get high. He didn’t force them to smoke pot; he didn’t use violence or assault anyone. He gave a paying customer what he asked for.

Just as county government can use legal process to access electronic records against an adversary like Hightower, the county’s legal adversaries can demand from the county extensive records about activities like police investigations. Archaeology
Archaeology is the new secondary profession that will be joining the ranks of cooking, fishing,www.forwowgold.org, and first aid in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Archaeology allows the player to unlock new abilities and rewards by discovering ancient treasures throughout the world. Each archaeologist uses the profession to uncover clues hidden in the world around them, such as troll relics or map fragments, and decipher their meaning, enabling the clever archaeologist to manipulate pieces of the past, learning the location of a treasure cache or valuable artifact. Such artifacts are highly sought after by the Archaeology Society, and they pay in gold and items for their return. Those who have mastered archaeology can find Titan artifacts, earning special currency used to unlock character paths and allowing the player to further customize their character.

Reforging

Reforging is another way to customize your gear.
It will be relatively cheap, you will need a Blacksmith / Leatherworker / Tailor / Jewelcrafter / Engineer to do it. Each profession get to reforge a type of items.
It lets you reduce one stat for another. Some restrictions will apply, you can’t put the extra stat on something that is already on the item.

Professions

Multi-gains will be added, while you level up your trade skills, rare items will give you more points as you skill up. (Rare items will give you 5 points for example, while green bracers will only give one
Gathering should be a little more fun.
Engineering is a very fun tradeskill, but it’s either amazing or it sucks and everybody drops it. More convenient items like Jeeves or Wormhole Generator will be added to the profession in the future to get back to the roots of Engineering.

Most of the guides are now updated for patch 3.1. I play in EU, so I can only check the changes tomorrow, when the patch goes live here. Well, there won’t be much left I think, I got most of the changes from the PTR. I am curious about some change with the leveling process of cooking, there are some new recipes and they said 400-450 will be easier, I didn’t have time to actually level cooking when PTR was online, so I am going to do it tomorrow.

Patch 3.1.0 is now available on the PTR downloader. Below you can find the list of changes related to professions.

Alchemy

Blackmouth Oil and Fire Oil no longer require a vial.
Increased the health granted by the Flask of Stoneblood.
The Mercurial Stone is no longer required as a tool for alchemists. It is instead a green quality bind-on-equip trinket. Elixir of Greater Spellpower now grants spell power to all schools of magic. The Crazy Alchemist Potion is now correctly increased by Alchemist Stones.
You can now sometimes find Alchemist’s Caches from bosses in Ulduar. Only players with an Alchemy skill of 425 or higher can loot these secret caches.

Blacksmithing

Most of the recipes in the 1-300 skill range of blacksmithing have had their stats updated to be more useful.
Added a new recipe for the Titansteel Spellblade.
Titanium Plating now reduces the duration of disarm effects by 50% as well as increasing your block value. Added a new recipe for the Titansteel Spellblade, an epic one-handed caster dagger, available from trainers. Added new recipes for epic gear, found rarely on Ulduar bosses. These recipes are unbound and can be traded.

Cooking

Grub now sells the Dig Rat Stew recipe to players who completed the quest.
Prospector Khazgorm, found in Bael Modan in southern Barrens, now sells the recipe for Dig Rat Stew to the Alliance. A new recipe has been added to cooking trainers for making Black Jelly, using several Borean Man ‘O War as ingredients. While it looks disgusting, it restores more health and mana than the highest level food. Flint and Tinder is no longer necessary for creating a campfire. You’re just that resourceful! Ingredients such as Spices, Apples, and the like have been removed from most cooking recipes. Players no longer need to complete the Clamlette Surprise quest to gain Artisan cooking. The quest now offers the unique recipe, Clamlette Magnifique. If you already completed the quest, you can visit Dirge Quickcleave in Gadgetzan to learn this recipe (for free). Several Northrend recipes were given greater skill up ranges to make it easier to reach 450 cooking skill. You no longer need to learn cooking from books. The trainers have finally done their reading and are able to teach you the same thing.

Enchanting

Added a recipe for enchanting staves with spell power. Greatly increased the drop rate of recipes found in pre-Lich King dungeons and raids. Several recipes in the 250-300 skill range have been rebalanced, and the reagent requirements have been reduced.
Some enchants now have level restrictions. Note: the enchant is never removed from the item to which it’s applied, however, the player no longer receives its benefit until they reach the required level. Any enchants modified in this way have had their tooltips updated. The enchanting interface now correctly sorts grey recipes by skill difficulty.

Engineering

Added a new Reticulated Armor Webbing engineering enchant that increases the armor on plate gloves. Added a new Springy Arachnoweave engineering enchant that grants passive spell power in addition to turning your cloak into a parachute. Flexweave Underlay now grants passive agility in addition to its normal effect.
Nitro Boosts now grant passive critical strike rating in addition to their speed boost.
Nitro Boosts now make you drop PVP flags when used, as well as preventing you from picking them up while the effect is active.

Fishing

A new (and very rare) special mount can now be caught from Northrend fishing pools. A new clam, the Giant Darkwater Clam, can be obtained by fishing in Wintergrasp. This mighty clam has a greatly increased chance to drop pearls, and yields up to five times the regular amount of clam meat. New fishing dailies are now offered from Marcia Chase in Dalaran City!
Players are no longer required to do the Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme quest to gain Artisan fishing. The quest now offers a special superior-quality fishing pole instead. If you already completed the quest, you can visit Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh to receive this new fishing pole.
The time needed to catch fish has been reduced. You can now fish anywhere, regardless of skill. Every catch has the potential for fishing skill gains, but you are likely to catch worthless junk in areas that are too difficult for your skill. You can now fish in Wintergrasp, and the fishin’ is good! You no longer need to learn fishing from books. The trainers have finally done their reading and are able to teach you the same thing.

Gathering Skills

Toughness, Master of Anatomy, and Lifeblood now have level requirements equal to the level required for the corresponding skill rank: Apprentice (1),buy wow gold, Journeyman (1), Expert (10), Artisan (25), Master (40), Grand Master (55).
You can no longer fail when Mining, Herbing, and Skinning.

Inscription

Added a recipe to trainers for creating a level 70 superior-quality off-hand item.
Added a recipe for creating a different level 70 superior-quality off-hand item. Scribes will find the recipe is dropped from residents of Silverbrook. Added around 50 new glyph recipes. These new recipes can be obtained from Books of Glyph Mastery found as world drops on Northrend monsters. Reading a Book of Glyph Mastery randomly discovers one of the newly-added recipes. Glyph icons have been updated so it is easy to distinguish between classes.
Players will now learn 3 recipes the very first time they perform Northrend Inscription Research. This does not apply to players who have already discovered recipes from Northrend Inscription Research (sorry).

Herbalism

Find Herbs no longer tracks Glowcaps. Northrend herbs now yield more herbs on average. The herbalism requirement for gathering Tiger Lily has been reduced to 375. The time it takes to gather herbs has been reduced.

Jewelcrafting

Added a new recipe to cut black diamonds. Added a recipe for Shifting Twilight Opal to the daily jewelcrafting vendor. Added recipes for superior-quality PVP rings and necklaces to Northrend jewelcrafting trainers.

Leatherworking

Shadowskin Gloves and Dusky Boots no longer require Shadowcat Hide to create, but instead require an equal quantity of Shadow Silk. Shadowcat Hides can no longer be obtained from skinning. Added a recipe for combining Borean Leather Scraps into Borean Leather. You can still use Borean Scraps from your inventory to combine them. Added new recipes for epic gear, found rarely on Ulduar bosses. These recipes are unbound and can be traded. Several lower-level items crafted by leatherworkers have received major changes to make them more appealing.

Mining

Northrend deposits now despawn 1 minute after mining them. This change was made to speed up respawning when nodes were partially looted.

Tailoring

Added new recipes for epic gear, found rarely on Ulduar bosses. These recipes are unbound and can be traded. Added recipes for superior-quality PVP cloaks to Northrend tailoring trainers. The Lightweave tailoring enchant now sometimes grants a temporary spell power bonus instead of dealing direct damage to your target. Several lower-level items crafted by tailors have received major changes to make them more appealing. 9 comments 1

Hello once again, I’m Cookie, here to bring you my ideas of leveling speciations! A lot of hunters go Beast Mastery, but my friend made a point to me. Do I want my pet to lead me around, and do all my damage? Sure I guess, if you want to. But it made a dang lot of sense! So I’ll bring you both of them! In fact, all three, cause like rogues, they can all do depending on your playing style! First Beast Mastery.

Hello once again! If you haven’t seen any of my guides, check my profile. That being said, I plan to cover every class in WoW for good leveling ideas, and if you find a flaw, or have a suggestion,buy wow gold, please Private Message me! Now onto the show!

There are two ways you can level (Three, they are all dps, but Subtlety I have been told is not that good) so that leaves combat and assassin.

Introduction

After recently coming back to the game after nearly a years break, I struggled finding gear for my Druid Tank. My aim here is to draw from my ‘eventful’ experiance and hopefully make it easier for you to reach Mid to End Game Raids. Currently my Druid has a gearscore of 2571, based on Wow-Heroes, which puts him in range of ICC10.

This is a simple spec for leveling by using Area of Effect (AoE) attacks. I have found that this is the fastest way to level a DK as you deal damage to many mobs at once. With many talents geared towards doing AoE damage, unholy is the tree that best supports AoE damage, whether it be leveling or raiding that you are trying to accomplish.
